Make Harness Racing Exciting - 3/4 mile races!

Want to make it exciting again? Get rid of multiple trainer entries in big races .Get a positive guilty till proven innocent (per engblom). Still racing after 2 years. Judges should be clean horseman ,not ex crooks ( race secretary also should not be heavy gamblers and on the take ). Not my opinion FACTS

You'll have to add 1500 more big races a year to make that work for BurkeAss because he's everywhere a welfare dollar can be

Odd distances both shorter and longer have been done many times, it just doesn't work. Even confuses the few bettors who understand the game. Bottom line is you can't change the basics that are harness racing. In the public's eye to the few who even know what it is, there's no comparison to other forms of entertainment. It's boring, they'd rather push buttons and play Fortnite for instant gratification and a sense of control. Remember, most people see this now is a crooked industry, can't imagine where they got that idea.

Vernon used to race 3/4 mile races back in the 70s and 80s. Just made it closer to half mile racing because you didn't have the long run before the 1st turn like they did when going a mile there.
One of the Canadian tracks (maybe Georgian Downs) used to have a special day where they raced all kinds of different distances, I think they went as short as 1/8 mile and las long as 3 miles. I think the 3 mile race had 16 horses.

  i agree with much but the Ex crooks suggests they are now honest and that is not the case,  Trigger is like the TAZMANIAN DEVIL who like to spin around and have fun but he also at times makes TAZ look normal,   Enjoy his show its different and insane and sometimes dead on

A few of us last week after watching Yonkers were talking joking around, it's some of the most boring racing around almost every race no one pulls anymore until 5/8 its none betting bs. They should have 1/4-mile racing with 5 horse fields one of the guys said they should just make 3/8 strip crank them up 1/8 mile let them race for the 1/4-mile race.
I know it would never happen but would be interesting to see

Years ago Buffalo had the "9/16 dash for cash" wild going into that first turn. Didn't bet anymore than usual.

More competitive racing.

Not settle and race for 1/4-1/2 because of the distance of the race.

On a track size like Mohawk they could still go 2 turns easily and with a very staggered gate equal the outside playing field.

I would love to see the dash races become regular on racing cards. This is a good way to get a windfall R.O.I, Some trainers and drivers believe that they are certain that a horse has 1 style of racing and alot of times that's simply not true IMO! When a horse that has been racing from behind is sent off the gate like a skallded cat for the first time, ya just might see that the connections were dead wrong about the horse needing a trip! To me the change in racing styles can give sharp handicappers a bit of an edge if they have been watching the horse race week in, and race out! BRING ON THE DASHES!!!!

How about each driver is allowed to carry one filled water balloon 

As long as you don't hit a horse or cause an accident, but do try to cause a distraction to gain an edge 

Gladiator racing, no knives, spears, chains, guns....just water balloons.

If you don't use your balloon, you can use it the next race until the last race, one balloon per card.
