Make Harness Racing Exciting - 3/4 mile races!
« on: Today at 01:26:38 AM »
Let them all go full throttle for 3/4's of a mile.

Do that tracks.

Train for that.

We'll handicap that.

We'll wager on that.

And it will be exciting!  ;D

Spock have you lost your mind and how bad would it be if at Mohawk they had a half mile dash and they go single file around the track with TYLER BORTH and SCOTT YOUNG LETTING All parked horses have holes with a 58.2 half mile winner,    Mohawk is Somalia and the crooked PIRATES run the show.

And they are the perfect size track to still go 2 turns...for sure if there is no enforcement to the rules of competition...we get caught up on certain way of doing things for so long and it just doesn't work.  Boring and no-competitive for most the race should not allow it to be called a race.  They want to pull the shit they're doing now let them go 2 miles!  ;D

If you want exciting do  a 1/4 mile race on a 1/2 mile track where only drivers with a "P" beside their name can drive.

Harness racing sprints, not what I said, but if you want to test the speed of the fastest horses off the gate in the world, they should try it and record it.

3/4 mile still a race, not as much stamina, not as much tactics needed, but a damn good race if everyone trying for at least half a mile of it of and way more competitive and it's enforced.

Make 3/4 mile races the highest purse races too!  ;D

Odd distances both shorter and longer have been done many times, it just doesn't work. Even confuses the few bettors who understand the game. Bottom line is you can't change the basics that are harness racing. In the public's eye to the few who even know what it is, there's no comparison to other forms of entertainment. It's boring, they'd rather push buttons and play Fortnite for instant gratification and a sense of control. Remember, most people see this now is a crooked industry, can't imagine where they got that idea.  ngc3

I have always felt the different distances might make racing less boring.

THE entire harness world outside north AMERICA uses distance changes and in France where they have the ARC RACE ONE OF THE BIGGEST RACES IN THE WORLD harness racing is bigger than the runners and its the only place on earth but they have huge fields and big prices,     Remember one thing racing at a mile is not doing well and if the harness game believe ABC racing with speeds tracks built for breeders and drug cheats is the answer then there is 100 percent no hope.    Mike i watched a show yesterday from the meadowlands with a boring crew and even with a staggart gate speed was awesome if the track had movement with a stag gate it could come back big time and its the only track that has a chance.

The crown jewel track that is letting the Hambo go? The dude doing paddock interviews....I don't even wanna say it. I like Dave, but the only way to attract youth is with youth. Maybe mix Dave with Annie and Meadow. But the build it and they will come approach only works in movies. Remember half the public wants racing gone, I deal with those people each day. And I mean all racing, not just harness. The world is a different place now.

Want to make it exciting again? Get rid of multiple trainer entries in big races .Get a positive guilty till proven innocent (per engblom). Still racing after 2 years. Judges should be clean horseman ,not ex crooks ( race secretary also should not be heavy gamblers and on the take ). Not my opinion FACTS. Also trigger you need to stfu ,what a jerk
