Facts:

I agree Lare is most likely still training them. To make it look good, last night 2 of his horses ran at Dover and when they returned to paddock area after the race Walter Callahan was there to greet the horse. Jaime Sullivan has been listed as trainer for several horses the past few years, mainly Frank Chick's but there's definitely a connection to Lare.

Why Walter would want to get hooked up in Lares mess is beyond me. Everyone who gets involved with Kevin winds ip getting burnt.

He owns a couple of horses and trains a few, probably needs the money.

More posturing by the USTA. HISA just held a major roundtable/meeting at the Breeders Cup and the topic was racehorse safety. They covered both from the sport/business perspective, and relative to public perception. Then they expanded the conversations. HISA has already had more than a hand in getting tracks to delay or cancel racing, shut down a turf course, etc.---and they've been successful in doing it, even though they don't have the enforcement authority to directly do it. That's a success.

The USTA can recommend, propose, even mandate, all they want. I am still waiting to see what authority they actually have. Like we've seen before, they are inserting themselves into issues where they were uninvited, and they have no authority. Sounds like a lot of noise to me. I think you will see more state horsemen's associations begin to act autonomously, support HISA, and begin to operate differently.

If this proposal ever goes anywhere----watch what happens when people start calling for limiting the # of starts for 2yo's. Now that will be entertaining to watch, LOL.

Actually, the proposal does have a limit for 2 yo and 3 yo; if I recall it was 20 or 25 starts for a 2 yo and 30 starts for a 3 yo and then 35 for 4 and up.
