Stupid thread! Please move to the stupid thread category!

here's the issue in the win circle.  A lot of stables expect their grooms to look decent when they smile at the WIN circle holding the horse.  However, a lot of paddock helpers put out a poor representation for their trainer and owner.  It really is time for the sport to look like there are hundreds of thousand dollars of trained equine athletes on any single night.
The issue isn't whether of not to photograph.  It's rewarding the team and owner with a decent picture off their investment.

The time it takes for the photos is irrelevant most of the time as times between races are set and it doesn't matter what you do in between.  The only times a ceremony can hold up the next race would be for major stakes races and you know that there HAS to be pictures etc for those.

Yeah they overcharge for the pictures but thats old news, tracks have been overcharging for stuff like that since the beginning of time.

Like most drivers (or anyone else in the stable) i started out as a groom. Years of cleaning stalls and forking shit 365 days a year. Its a dirty job. And anyone who has ever paddocked a horse knows what a wet sloppy job that is. Youre dealing with sweaty horses and buckets of water. Expecting a groom to show up in the winners circle looking like they just stepped off a plane to Monaco is unrealistic

Its 90 degrees outside and you're in a building with a few fans blowing hot air and you're not supposed to be sweating when you go to the winner's circle to catch your horse?

Stupid idea, owners want pictures, why do you care? Why does a win photo bother you. There is nothing to gain, other than some pissed off owners.

Maybe you should expand this to track ownership, when you have Gural standing in the Winners Circle with Confederate, With a shirt untucked. Or Bowden from diamond creek in shorts.  C'mon add some class to the dress code for a stakes race. This isnt overnights.

Spot on. My wife was surprised at the outfit the Diamond Creek guy wore Gural is a slob, so no expectations there. Loved Jess in the red strapless dress!wink wink

Give 'em a smock to wear for the picture.  Typically, you're making a difficulty out of a simpled

When the Meadowlands opened in 76 every winning owner received a free winners circle picture.

The pictures are unnecessary. Most of the owners are just investors and don’t need a picture of a juiced up horse out of its mind. Plus it’s a safety issue today and with concerns of germs and disease like Covid, just skip the winners circle and the owner can have the trainer snap a pic at the farm and save him money by going to Walmart and get whatever they want for 99 cents. Just because the track has been scamming the owners for years doesn’t mean it has to continue.

Track not scamming anyone. It's the photographer who charges for the picture and if you don't want to pay..Dont order. Go to the far with your phone and take one the next day! Like you said.

I think the tracks get a certain amount of money from every pic that the photographer sells
