I'm sure the Burke horses all have a plan to help one another. One of them will win. To have 5 in a race makes no sense. The max should be 2. I'm sure changes will be coming in the future to limit entries.

How would you feel if you were the owner on one and your horse was excluded from the race because your trainer had two others eligible? Especially after making all the stake payments, possibly focusing the horse's schedule towards the event, and now you're not allowed to race because there's a limit. Not going to happen.

Don’t use a trainer that has a possibility of having more that two entries.

There are many examples where drivers of Burkes horses help each other out. I don't think you should limit the number of entries but you should start fining drivers and giving out driving suspensions of a week or two that have  to be served immediately not in February.

You can go that route and possibly diminish your horse's chance at success. You'll also need a crystal ball to determine the future number of entries per competent trainer. But it's all a moot point, because the two-entry limit will never ever happen.

This has some legs, but how does a judge determine (in all certainty) that a driver is helping out another horse and driver? Drivers give holes all the time -- Drivers sit outside other horses all the time -- Drivers park other horses all the time. What action would determine a fine or a suspension? It's all very subjective. It's not like a blatant stiff or a malicious act of impeding another horse.

I'll go out on a limb---Meillo.  Not a good drive by Wrenn last week!  Got locked in last week following the wrong horse.  Tough draw but a ton of pace last week. and hopefully the price is right!
