I have never been to Roosevelt- but I recall using those "tickets" at Belmont
There was also a bet called The Twin Double.You bought a ticket for the first two races, and if it hit you turned it in for a ticket on two later races.If you got the first ticket home you could scout the grandstand for someone to sell it to, or you could buy live tickets to resell, or you could bet it yourself.It was a lot of fun buying and selling.
I was really young and it was harness but I remember my uncle playing 'THE BIG P'.You had to turn in winning tickets to be able to bet the payoff leg.
