Since I got some racing names, here is your non-racing name——John Yinger.

Thoughts and input please.

wouldnt you expect office holders and candidates to have some connection to the sport/industry?

THEN DONT ACT LIKE YOU ARE IN IT TO CLEAN IT UP.
THEY ARE IN IT TO PUT LIPSTICK ON A PIG. TO KEEP PEOPLE LIKE THEM AFLOAT.

If you're serious about cleaning up the sport, you need to bring in people with no ties to any of the trainers under suspicion. People who know them don't want to be known as whistle blowers.

People who know them don't want to be known as whistle blowers.

 Then there is those like SCM who would absolutely love to be known as a whistle blower(among other blowers) but he's already flagged as "no good".

It's a great game, if you have the means to play

I often question how does a trainer take a firm stance on a fellow trainer/peer. No, there may be no direct conflict, unless they are friends, but a Board member who is friends with a "suspect" trainer perhaps should not be a board member. Also, how does someone who is a consigner or sales company take a firm stance on a suspect trainer. Perhaps the trainer is a client.

All of these issues are governance issues, and the USTA has never been one on effective governance. I have far less of a problem with the SBOANJ -- and I think they do a good job for the most part. But I still question objectivity and integrity in process. On the other hand, what role do they play in the process.

As far as others who are vocal -- let's be clear on someone who is a legitimate participant in the sport and business, contributes vis a vis their vocation, job, employment, business, financial, whatever; as opposed to someone who is a protester, a heretic, or someone who simply inserts themselves into situations where they have no right, authority, or place to do so.

let me get this right
 this asshole gets caught on nov 14,16,29 of 2023
and one year later they give him a slap on the wrist

after he has raced all year including stakes races
so basically now he takes a 6 week holiday in november /december
I would love to know what he is blasting Desperate Man with. The horse couldn’t beat 10 claimers at Mohawk. But now he’s parked to 54 half’s at Yonkers from outside posts and just jogs. Like last week. Somehow he paid $7.10 to win with the latest designer drugs in him.
total joke
