Highland Kismet

Was again lathered up in early warm up. But did warm much better that last  start. Raced well, good trot in stretch. Dangerous next week.

Yes beating Karl will take some doing but It's worth noting that Kismet was driven carefully (no doubt because of the previous race disaster) and did manage the fastest last quarter, 26.1 of all the 20 Hambletonian hopefuls.

He looked way better last night than his previous start. McClure was actually asking in the stretch and he kicked home in 26:1. But he needs a draw and a trip because McClure is borderline awful at times. Karl also looked better than his last start. But YG was holding him together in the last 1/8. Something is definitely not perfect with his gait.

I know Etsell will not give him the hook. Because he’s like a father figure to McClure. But McClure is actually really good on young horses. He just gets absolutely undressed at times when he leaves Mohawk. Sylvia looked great last Sunday. But seriously. How could she lose to that field? They could have put a pet monkey in the race bike last week and she still would have jogged. She had been brutalized for weeks trying to be competitive against Dexters horse who has blossomed into a monster this year. I would love to see a young and in prime Ron Pierce drive her.

Exactly. I am certain McClure would've won with her, too. She is just second best to TBJF this year thus far. May switch by the end of the year, but it's pretty apparent right now.

Trace?  OOPS, sorry wrong Tetrick!
Tim hasn't had much luck lately in big races lately!
Will this make a difference?  Inquiring minds want to know!
