The 3rd times the charm!  I've been associated with the Connor's over the last decade or so.  Can always get a great story or 2 if/when I see them.  Now back to the topic at hand--When the Connor's put down the youngsters to drive their horses, what does that tell you (going back a few years ago before the accent of the youngsters)?  From what I was told in one of his stories, Chuck helped in the development of Mark Beckwith too!

I'm not up with the Beckwith barn at all over the years.  I've been down near Pompano Park (RIP) too many years and raced horses with the Connor's up north during this time span.

I agree with that. Joey has a gr8 coach in his corner. His dad Joe! Joe was a top notch driver and could get the job done with either gait! Pops was a major factor in the very lucrative Michigan program about 30 years ago. He always had a calm demeanor and the ability to get the best from green trotters in the pre trotting hopples era. Joey has all the tools to succeed as long as he stays focused on improving.

There should be some kind of mentor program. If I was a young driver I'd love to have an experienced driver like Simon Allard take me under his wing.

Brett is on his way to climbing that mountain. Young, not afraid to travel and has success at all tracks. From his interviews, kid seems to have his head on strait.
Someone mentioned Todd McCarthy. Folks, pay attention. He already is there. Top 10, Top 15. Call it what you want. He is a grand circuit driver. Enough said.
Luke Hanners. He also has the talent. Competed at the Big M in the Winter and has won. Can't speak to the person he is, but talent wise I think he has it.
Johnathan Ahle. I agree that the more I watch him, I do like him. Definitely better than last year. More experience, etc... bright future.
Matty "Ice" Athearn and Nick Graffam. I see them making their livings in New England and NY. Matty gets a cup of coffee at the Big M once in a while, but that's that. 

The rest of the people that have been mentioned, i have not watched enough to form an opinion. I am intrigued by Tyler Borth. Have to watch him a little more.
One last one real quick. Adam Moykens. Spelling may be off. From what I have seen, he needs a lot more work and drives. He has a hard time getting control of horses.
Like anything when you are young, you need experience. Grind out day to day, have a good attitude and don't feel entitled.
