The cards are nowhere near the old Meds. It's a joke to even try and compare the product. Lost all the old series,  Fri or Sat races are a B product now, at best. No bullshit amatuer crap every weekend. Jeff saved the place, but he killed the racing.

Well put. How did that happen for the glorious Big M to devolve into this?

I used the horse in p5s but i went four deep in that race. My logic was similar to jugs - my recollection is earnings were close to 40 k, the horse had been off a while but the qualifuer for this sort was not bad. I didnt use the horse on top in exsctas because the driver sucks; as do these races.

I went under in my p5 like a lot of bettors because i singled the heavy odds on horse in the 3rd which appeared to me the connections werent concerned with trying to win with.

Big M is hasnt reached the bottom of its dive to the abyss; every yr it sinks more and mire. This from a long time big m fan and supporter.

Having the amateurs brings out alot of the participants familys that bet and flood the foodstands . If they have a good time, they go to work Monday and blab to their co-workers all day about it.

One night at Yonkers, many years, there were two guys standing next to me when one asked the other if he could borrow a saw-buck till next week. The guy replied as to why he needed it as he had hit $250. exacta the previous night. His reply was, "shit, my wife blew it on the rent. I wish all the dart throwers the best.   73cv.2 73cv.2 73cv.2

So many amateur races are run FOR ONE REASON AND ONE REASON ONLY. If they could fill a card with quality races ( not the trackmaster 74 and below horses for these are merely Freehold North, or the $12,500 claiming races filled with $7500 claimers,  you wouldn't see so any of these races. Ok maybe one a week

The reason they have so many is that they NEED THEM to make a 14-race card. Without the 14 races, they wouldn't do the $3 M handles.  If they went with 10 or 11 races, they slip well below their $3M magic number.
