Ship Wreck Beach K \RACE 7 Saturday NIGHT.Holland worked hard to get to lead--27.1 first 1/4--then walks the next at 30.1. Apparently, this pissed the Judges off that much-they TOOK THE HORSE DOWN AND PLACED HIM 7TH!!!!Now I agree with the judges--this really slow second 1/4 is a ploy that prevents the back markers from getting in the race--so Im all for fining the drivers for going so slow -should be fined---but now the trainer and owner lose the race and Holland gets five days after winning.Let's see if this improves the racing--
Why should Holland get days ? Why not hit the guys that sit in and don't push the pace until the 5/8th's or sometimes 3/4 mark.

ANYONE WHO BET ON THAT HORSE SHOULD FILE A LAWSUIT AGAINST YONKERS JUDGES FOR A REFUND OR BETTER YET, THEY WINNING AMOUNT THAT THEY WOULD OF GOTTEN BACK. IF THEY WANNA DO SHIT LIKE THAT ITS FINE AS LONG AS THEY REFUND ALL BETS ON THAT HORSE AND DECLARE HIM A NON STARTER. TOTAL NONSENSE AND SOMEONE NEEDS TO SUE YONKERS JUDGES WHOEVER DECIDED TO DISQUALIFY HOLLAND WITHOUT ANY INFRACTION OR INTERFERENCE. YOU GOTTA GIVE THE BETTORS BACK THERE MONEY STUPID ASS JUDGES
The whole thing is a complete joke only way a horse can be set back if he cause interference.
So, you would pull 1st up just past the 1/4 on the 2/5 shot on the front on a half mile track? Let me know your name and I'll be sure to auto toss you in my selections!
No --you would not unless you are riding shotgun----BUT one of the reasons why Bartlett and co(Dowse)and others--win so many races--is that when they look like the best on paper--the drivers bet on Bartlett-and he is allowed to stroll to the front and go an easy second 1/4 usually 29 and a piece. This eliminates any chance of a backmarker upsetting the apple cart. In a legit run race say a higher conditioned pace or claimer--no first half should go slower than 56 IMHO. Kudos to the Judges---they warned drivers about what would happen if they slowed the pace too much second 1/4--this is the result of that.Now they need to get after drivers who give up holes(Pigland is correct--some are paid to do it) because this really screws up racing. Drivers will argue that it's tactics--but in many scenarios, you can see that it's not.Once they crack down on the drivers--hopefully betting will improve because bettors HATE betting on pet walkers--unless they are assured of a win by one of the above BS tactics._IMHO--if horse guns to the lead one week then the following week--takes back when in the betting- -this should be questioned by the Judges and the answer PUBLISHED IN THE PROGRAM. There should be a Judges page after each meeting where Judges call drivers in to explain their tactics. Great handicapping tool and will soon put the BS driver excuses out there where everyone can see what happened instead of being treated like mushrooms.
