Leamington August 9
« on: July 31, 2020, 12:30:50 PM »
Hopefully, this post will give you a taste of what you are looking for in racing - an informed and entertaining way to make a few dollars betting horses.

On June 1st the Lakeshore group asked me to produce the best darn simulcast in racing. The writing is on the wall, and they want to show they are relevant.
On July 15, following 6 weeks of writing, and just 2 hours after our first production shoot, the show was cancelled. Money.

Not to be dismayed, I am going to post over the next few days, some of the 2 minute vignettes whicH would have filled the gap between races.
We start with the 6 minute Leamington Raceway simulcast show ‘Open’....

NO OFFENSE MARTY, BUT YOU ARE TOO OLD TO GIVE US ANYTHING NEW.  ALL YOU BRING TO THE TABLE IS LEFTOVERS AND THEY ARE STARTING TO GROW MOLD,

AND THIS DAY AND AGE, WALKING AROUND IN YOUR JOCKEY SHORTS IS ACTING LIKE A PERV

APPRECIATED YOU "BACK IN THE DAY" BUT IT IS TIME FOR SOMETHING NEW, TO PASS THE TORCH,,, AND SET FIRE TO THOSE SHORTS

Marty, it looks like you were wearing Tom Bain's suit jacket rather than one you bought for yourself at Freed's.  You still have it.  But comb that thinning heeeeeeeeeeeb hair and get a haircut.  The schtick was always your strongest suit.

I THOUGHT THE OBJECT WAS TO TRY TO GET NEW FANS FROM THE YOUNGER GENERATION.

THIS GUY IS TRYING TO DIG SOME UP FROM YEARS AGO.

HIS GENERATION ALREADY RUINED RACING ONCE, WHY GIVE THEM ANOTHER CHANCE?

Word of advice  ..  Don't rail them on caps .. They'll band you  73cv.2

Marty was funny in spots.  Liked the slow times for his track joke.

Tough crowd this Horseplop, but I love it.
Keep it up.

From the first post, you took on my age, hair & clothes, & I’ve only just begun.

I was asked by a small track in Ontario to help them get their simulcast noticed. Like many tracks in North America, their days are numbered, and I will do whatever I can to help.

Perhaps my shortcomings, as some have identified, will inspire you to do better.
More to come.
