Title: Leamington August 9
Post by: oreogator2 on July 31, 2020, 12:30:50 PM
Hopefully, this post will give you a taste of what you are looking for in racing - an informed and entertaining way to make a few dollars betting horses.

On June 1st the Lakeshore group asked me to produce the best darn simulcast in racing. The writing is on the wall, and they want to show they are relevant.
On July 15, following 6 weeks of writing, and just 2 hours after our first production shoot, the show was cancelled. Money.

Not to be dismayed, I am going to post over the next few days, some of the 2 minute vignettes whicH would have filled the gap between races.
We start with the 6 minute Leamington Raceway simulcast show ‘Open’....

NO OFFENSE MARTY, BUT YOU ARE TOO OLD TO GIVE US ANYTHING NEW.  ALL YOU BRING TO THE TABLE IS LEFTOVERS AND THEY ARE STARTING TO GROW MOLD,

AND THIS DAY AND AGE, WALKING AROUND IN YOUR JOCKEY SHORTS IS ACTING LIKE A PERV

APPRECIATED YOU "BACK IN THE DAY" BUT IT IS TIME FOR SOMETHING NEW, TO PASS THE TORCH,,, AND SET FIRE TO THOSE SHORTS

Marty, it looks like you were wearing Tom Bain's suit jacket rather than one you bought for yourself at Freed's.  You still have it.  But comb that thinning heeeeeeeeeeeb hair and get a haircut.  The schtick was always your strongest suit.

THIS GUY IS TRYING TO DIG SOME UP FROM YEARS AGO.

HIS GENERATION ALREADY RUINED RACING ONCE, WHY GIVE THEM ANOTHER CHANCE?

Tough crowd this Horseplop, but I love it.
Keep it up.

From the first post, you took on my age, hair & clothes, & I’ve only just begun.

I was asked by a small track in Ontario to help them get their simulcast noticed. Like many tracks in North America, their days are numbered, and I will do whatever I can to help.

Perhaps my shortcomings, as some have identified, will inspire you to do better.
More to come.

It’s a holiday in Ontario. Along with opening days, tracks thrive on moments like these for the entertainment and family values. But, how do you drive attendance the rest of the year?

Minor league Baseball will do 25 cent hot dogs and 50 cent beer days/nights as a promo and the stands are packed so they get their admission money and they cut a deal with their suppliers and everyone comes out ahead. Now you can't do that with this Covid but should we ever get back to normal then why not.

ANOTHER IDEA. SO OLD, THAT IT HAS 6 FEET OF DIRT ON TOP OF IT, LIKE YOU HOPEFULLY SOON WILL HAVE

REMEMBER IT IS NOT YOUR GREAT GRANDADDIES RACETRACK ANYMORE

My wife, son and i attended the NA Cup last year and got free tee shirts and hats. That'll keep us going to the track for a few years. My son (22 years old) wears his NA Cup hat most days and he and his buddies now go to the track.

Leamington Raceway opens in 4 days. Sunday, August 9. Post time 1:30

The above scripts were written specifically for Leamington (small track)
Not necessarily to attract the gambler - more so to attract the crowd, the family. These scripts would be different for a large track - more to address racing issues, including a sense of entertainment.

With that in mind, here comes a racing “issue”.......

Marty is and always was a very good handicapper and gambler.  Not at degenerate level but very involved.  Loved to bet on his own horses.  Would absolutely destroy the resident clowns like Lice Man, Cunni-Lingus and the Maywood Midget in a handicapping contest.  And would totally embarrass a fucking non-handicapping idiot like Bob Pandoofus.  I'm certain that the Leamington handle owes a big part to Marty's personal handle.  Until next time, handicappers..... ....HEIL HITLER!!

So that would make you about 2 levels below Pandolfo, or just above a gutter rat, which is where your mouth is from.
Speaking of degenerate level, you would know, wouldn’t you?

Geez, Gilles Gendron is driving at Leamington!!  If that's the original, he's got to be pushing 75.  In his day, he was the best driver not named Filion at Blue Bonnets.

And I see my old buddy, Georgie Robinson, now seems to have a slew of skins.  Nice card.

I look at the Officials page and I chuckle as I remember most all of those people as small children.  Good for them all.  Until next time, history "Buffs".............HEIL HITLER!!

I got a load of b level Canadian buggy tracks: summerside, Hippodrome, Georgian downs, Rideau car., and Clinton but no learningtobet.

Ah what the hell, after all the hard work the orregator put in here I feel compelled to bet a shitty track today. I see Buffalo on my card,  that should be a suitable American version of learmington. In just going to use the free learm program to play an early double. Fact that it's not the same horses racing shouldn't matter.

Good try Marty. Whole thing seemed pretty well thought out.

And Garret Rooney will drive.....Rooney is also driving a couple for Bob McIntosh..which tells you something

Results are in. Moreau horse won paid $9. Good tip from eye for anyone that could access a feed that allowed wagering. 7 out of 10 races went to favorite most under or at even $. Marc St Louis drove 4 winners.

Hope the handle at least held par for last yr - don't know.

My courier was stopped at the border by RCM police and not allowed through. Claimed was a suspicious character. Otherwise I would have crushed the pool in the 7th. :P
