Hush  ...    Not sure what to give you a break from.   When I respond to your point, you simply change your point.  It was about him not paying the NCAA and now its about turning the signal into a pay per view.  That's called capitalism.  if you don't support it, don't support his pay per view.  If you don't support capitalism, well, you may be living in the wrong country.

Capitalism  ...   Industry owned by private persons for profit.  Seems to fit the circumstances pretty well.  I think your hatred for Gural clouds your thinking and decision making and makes you sound a little ignorant at times.  But that's just my opinion.

Total Handle was $3,036,706.00, which is $600,000 more than last year on the same night!  No NCAA excuses either for the negative nitwits here.

Total handle for all 15 harness tracks racing last night, just under 6 million. 14 tracks combined did less than The Big M alone.

WHAT IS REALLY SAD IS WHEN YOU CLICK ON AN ARTICLE TO SEE HOW THE RACING TURNED OUT, AND ALL YOU HEAR OUT OF THE MEDIA DEPARTMENT IS HOW MUCH MONEY THEY MADE. WHY DONT YOU PUT PINKS TOTAL SALES IN THE ARTICLE AS WELL, MONEY MADE FROM DRINKS AND SALES OF HOT DOGS.   THERE SHOULD BE 3 THINGS LISTED IN THE MEADOWLANDS HANDLE REPORT, ON TRACK, IMPORT AND CARTEL WAGERING.  HOW DO THE HORSEMEN KNOW THEY ARE GETTING THEIR FAIR SHARE FOR PURSE ACCOUNTS, OR DO THEY HAVE TO TAKE HIS WORD FOR IT? PURSES ARE WHAT THEY ARE AND IF YOU DONT LIKE IT, TUFF SHIT.

IT IS SADLY OBVIOUS, THAT AT TODAYS MEADOWLANDS, NOT MY DADDY'S MEADOWLANDS, HOW MUCH $$ HE MAKES IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE RACING ITSELF

HOW MUCH MONEY, HE MAKES, HAS ALWAYS BEEN MORE IMPORTANT TO HIM, THAN THE PRODUCT HE PUTS ON THE TRACK.  WISH HE WOULD JUST CLOSE DOWN SO WE DONT HAVE TO READ OR LISTEN TO HIM COMPLAIN.  THE WHOLE INDUSTRY WOULD BE BETTER WITHOUT HIM

Alex  ....   How would tracks closing help our industry in any way?  What do you envision for the industry:   farmers meeting at each others home tracks every second Sunday, racing their best against best, $500 to the winner.  What the fuck are you thinking?

Less tracks racing, makes for fuller fields at the tracks that are. Fuller fields, usually, will make for better handle, better prices. I find it hysterical, that the lessor, Jeff Gural whines about not having enough entries. Yet, he has Tioga, Vermin downs, AND the D2 Meadowlands racing at the same time. On the other hand, the industry could keep doing the things the way they are. Seems to be a great business model.

    Sincerely, Silent One

You may be right  ....   less tracks, fuller fields at remaining tracks.   Not sure how that would work in Ontario Canada.  Remove Elmira  ....   those horses will now make for fuller fields at Mohawk.  I doubt it.   Many of those horses could never compete at Mohawk.   And driving 2 hours to compete in London for an Elmira purse, will be pretty costly if you don't come 1st, 2nd or 3rd.  I think the sucsessful model requires inexpensive, but excellent entertainment for families.   The bettors will find their fix online.
