Breeders Crown- Should be held on 5/8 or 1 Mile track?

Not sure what the best format would. 1 Mike track faster times. 5/8 more strategic for better driver?

Why don't we just make it like quarter horse racing?

The sport is dead.  On Welfare support as it is. That money used for Breeders Crown should go back to the state who are subsidizing the welfare purses.

Why even have a Breeders Crown?

Thoughts?

9/09/26 A day of celebration!

Georgian Downs did this years ago with races from 2 furlongs to races 1 mile+. Would be intriguing to try it again years later.

The game isn't dead, but it's dying
You gotta have a breeders crown IMHO
A few million bucks is nothing to any state
It shows which horses went throughout the year and had the stamina to beat the best of the best, and for year end honors. Also a big deal for breeding purposes.

Is the breeders crown bettable from a gamblers perspective and if so will there be money in the pools to make a decent score??

The pools are TBD..definitely will be higher then last weekend.
Yes its bettable, but not huge money to be made
What some people think is a decent score differs from person to person
There will be lots of heavy favorites
Big Ranger, Brandon Blvd and Twin B Joe Fresh come to mind
I will play more on the verticals then anything
T-breds I primarily play the horizontals

Looks chalky.  And I stopped betting elims a long time ago.  In my opinion, elims should be non wagering events as it’s clear not all horses are trying to win.  They are just making sure they are making it to the finals without getting gutted.  Unless you are Beau Jangles driver.   ngc3

Take out the handouts and what is left? In PA a $10,000 purse becomes $1,500. That takes away the money needed to make all the stakes payments. That has profound impact on the price of yearlings. May not dead but brain dead on life support.
