Just watched the replay. Beckwith's horse was moving up very slowly and never got within a length of the #7. His problem started when the #7 circled him out of the gate and he was indecisive whether to tuck ircuit of Scioto/n 3rd or not and hesitated.
You just don't see this happening here. same for the Ohio circuit of scioto/dayton/Miami valley.
Beckwith's horse was easy to hang because he wasn't moving fast enough for the other driver to even consider grabbing up and letting him go. He who hesitates gets parked.
