Harness racing is chemical warfare. The sport refusing to crackdown on the obvious cheats...left many no choice.
Mickey Burke, Rich Banca, Nick Surick, Rene Allard, and many others could not train a horse. They cheated and forced others to do so.
Even worse was the Pena situation. A 6% trainer at Cal Expo became the leading trainer at every east coast track. He got tossed...BUT...ev eryone knew he had many beards & nothing was done.
Today you have Ron Burke. If other didn't cheat they couldn't compete. It sucks how far the game has fallen.
If you have some talent and don't cheat...minor shares is what you get. In order to stay in the game and make a living...you go to the dark side.
