Meadowlands Pace
« on: Today at 01:52:12 PM »
        I thought race came up very weak , I know Brandon Blvd better Horse than that.  Unimpressive but Dunn figured out a way to get him home .    Maybe Zeron’s Horse choked down , hard to believe he could be that empty off of that trip.  Burke’s Horses right on the money , it looked like Yannick was going to pay 30 bucks in the Meadowlands pace for a second there.

Agreed - was shocked at how few leavers there were especially given how chaotic the stakes races have been to the half the last few weeks.  Quarter in 26.3 and half in 54 just isn’t that crazy right now given how well the front end is holding up.  You have to do a Capt Optimisitic suicide mission these days to bring the backfield in play

Also thought the same thing about Sweet Lovin Lou but he did end up getting home in 26:2 so not really walking.  Zeron had him in a great spot both on the NA Final and here but the horse seemed to flatten out in both.  In both cases he raced better in the elim - may just be a horse that needs an every other week schedule

I don't like staring at fractions--but a half in 54 for horses that go 148 is actually soft

the entire industry. especially the breeders--is clock obsessed

 it the was The M1 second biggest night of the year-so they usually have it at least one second faster for the owners, fans and media

I love it when October rolls around and everyone rushes to Lexington to get a meaningless speed badge for their horse

....claimers go in 48 and change at The Red Mile--so for me...it renders times rather irrelevant

Loua Dipa went almost a full second faster to the half. Brandon Blvd was good, but he made an easy lead in moderate fractions and barely held on. One  step past the wire Al Papi and Gentleman's Club both passed him.

Agree with the above - very weak group - maybe you get a year where a late bloomer pops up.

Hambo should be fun though - quite a few nice 3 year old trotting colts.

 Will the Hambo be;
 The Melander & Ake show?
2 in the 2y.o sire stakes, other one needs another couple weeks
 Best time of year watch the young horses racing for great money.
