Dougie, you are correct he can do it legally IF he abides by the War Powers act of 1973. The president MUST report to congress within 48 hours of deploying troops into hostilities, or situations where hostilities are likely. Troops must be withdrawn with 60 days, however a 30 day extension is possible, unless Congress passes a declaration of war. The President is required to consult with Congress "in every possible instance" before committing troops. It does not apply in cases where the U.S. is attacked. Since the last time I posted, gas has risen 10% in my area in just a day. Thid will be a costly exercise on both sides, militarily, economically, and emotionally.

     Sincerely, Silent One

Good afternoon Silent One. Thanks for that response. I've been doing a lot of reading on this topic today as the snow fell. The middle eastern countries are reporting that the Gulf states and Saudis are livid over the bombing in their countries by Iran. Over 100 injured. Any "good feeling" that China tried to broker between the Saudis and Iran are now over. And the other Gulf states realize that they need some sort of blanket protection from the US. Another very interesting take on this military action is quite revealing. Iran was providing most of the oli China required to run it's nation. Iran was also sending drones and equipment to Russia to be used in it's war against Ukraine. That looks like it's over now. In the next 48 hours, Iran's Navy will be completely destroyed as well as their Air Force. Almost all of their planes were destroyed on the ground by Israel's 200 plane attack. The US has the option to destroy it's power plants and water systems plunging them into darkness. But I hope they won't The aim of this military objective is allow the moderate forces within the regime to offer the average Iranian a new beginning. Time will tell.

Just ignore the insider trading.  ngc3

In the meantime Iran has 12% of the worlds oil.

They only have a ballistic missile that can go less than 2000 miles.

They are FUCKING RETARDS forever and a day.

We attacked a RETARDED, incapable, saber rattling annoying incompetent country.

Trump & Bibi & friends are making bank and you're as dumb as them.  Hundreds of billions off the airline stock tank.

Smartest person in Iran (maybe in this thread too other than me... ngc3 )

I have been thinking and reading about President Trump's decision to attack Iran. Congressional Democrats will try to batter him with claims that the action taken was "illegal" without their approval. But facts do no bear out that view. President Reagan in Grenada, President Bush in Panama, President Clinton in Kosovo, and Presiden Obama in Libya were all done without the approval of Congress.

Before attacking Dems for wanting to know the facts surrounding this war, please try to keep some perspective.
i don't think its apples with apples...
Grenada? the mighty Grenada? that was a mission to rescue 600 medical students.
Panama? Noriega had control of the canal, killed a Marine, and there were 40,000 americans to protect.
Milosovic was a savage butcher
Libya? We were part of a NATO coalition to enforce a UN mandate.
If you compare the above missions with Iran, the global shockwaves and repercussions appear more far-reaching .
I hope for minmal loss of life, both civilians and servicemen.

Just FYI, China imports approximately 1.4 million barrels per day (bpd) from Iran. If China can't get its oil needed from Iran, where will they go to? HMMMM RUSSIA? Bombing Iran is nothing but a distraction. Iran is not a military threat. If Trump was so worried about their nuclear capabilities, after Trump said that they were totally obliterated the first time, why not strategic strikes again? Forcing China to turn to Russia helps America?  From all media reports, while there have been some small celebrations of Iran's leaders' death, inside Iran, there has been no uprising to speak of. Just scared civilians sheltering in place. Way too many variables are at play here, and the situation could easily escalate. If, and i do say if, China decides to go after Taiwan, what is the response?

    Sincerely, Silent One

Calm down bro, China's daily appetite for oil barrels is over 16mil per day.

8% from Iran give or take short term is not a crisis, they'll get their oil.

My statement was never an attack on the Dems. Just repeating what i'm actually hearing from their leadership on the news. I think that the nations all around the middle East are privately doing a dance now that the leadership has been destroyed. This evil regime only wanted the destruction of Israel and US. They have been a bully to their neighbors for the last 47 years. I took, hope for minimal loss of life. The US/Israeli forces will destroy their Navy and Air Force within 48 hours. The only real way to stop evil is to destroy their capability to wage war. Regime change is far more difficult. As always, time will tell.

3 SOLDIERS DIED TODAY. NOT FOR OIL. NOT FOR LAND. FOR THE CHILDREN.

March 1, 2026. 11:47 AM.

The Pentagon confirmed: 3 American service members killed in action. 5 more wounded. The first casualties of Operation Epic Fury.

The media will use their deaths to question the war.

We will use their sacrifice to tell you WHY this war is being fought.

⚡ WHAT HAPPENED IN THE LAST 24 HOURS

While every camera on Earth pointed at Tehran — the real operation happened in silence.

— Interpol arrested 7 people across 4 European countries. France. Germany. Austria. Belgium. All connected to Epstein’s financial network. Not one headline.

— Two private jets grounded at Zurich airport. Passengers: a former EU commissioner and a retired NATO general. Both named in the March 1 files.

— Harvard’s most decorated economist resigned. His name appears on the Butterfly Foundation recipient list — the $340 million Epstein trust.

— Bill and Hillary Clinton testified before Congress this week. Under oath. Behind closed doors.

The DOJ released the files. The arrests are happening in Europe. Because that’s where they ran.

🔻 THE TEHRAN CONNECTION

At 02:00 AM last night, US forces struck Tehran. Khamenei is dead.

At 02:14 AM — 14 minutes later — a US Special Operations team entered an underground facility 40 km south of Tehran.

Not a military target. Not a nuclear site.

A server farm. The last backup of the Epstein blackmail tapes.

3,412 hours of footage. Every president since Clinton. Every billionaire. Every Hollywood icon.

Three copies. Three continents. All now in DOJ custody.

The war in Iran isn’t about regime change. It’s about evidence recovery.

Trump sent soldiers to die — not for oil — but for the tapes that will bring down the most powerful people on Earth.

⚡ THE NEXT 72 HOURS

March 2 — European arrest warrants for 3 more Epstein associates. One is a sitting EU Parliament member.

March 4 — Congressional hearing on Clinton testimony. The leaks have already started.

March 7 — Bondi presents ALL evidence — files, financials, AND the tapes — to a federal grand jury.

Every domino is falling. Every exit is blocked.

🔻 TO THE 3 WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES TODAY

You didn’t die for a politician’s war. You died for the truth.

You died so that 3,412 hours of evidence could never be destroyed.

You died so that the children who were trafficked, filmed, and forgotten could finally have justice.

Your sacrifice will not be forgotten.

The storm isn’t coming. The storm is HERE. And today we paid the price.

⟁ Honor them. Share this. The world must know why they fought.

he 118-year cycle closed this morning.

It began in 1908 when William Knox D'Arcy struck oil in southwest Persia.
Exclusive extraction rights. Sixteen percent royalty—no Iranian permitted to audit the books.
Anglo-Persian Oil Company born.
Churchill called it "a prize from fairy land beyond our wildest dreams."

The British government took 51% controlling stake in 1914.
The Royal Navy ran on it.
Britain's 20th century standard of living was subsidized by Iranian wealth while Iranian workers lived without running water.

When Mossadegh nationalized in 1951, the system corrected.
Operation Ajax installed the Shah.

The MB —now designated T3rr0r1st organization—provided the street chaos then as they have in every managed conflict since.

When the Shah outlived his utility, the Ayatollahs inherited the franchise.

Same architecture.

Different management.

The mechanism has been consistent:
City of London sets global oil prices, insures shipments, banks sovereign wealth, launders for the chaos mafias.

Managed conflict between Israel and Arab states, Sunni and Shia, keeps the extraction flowing.

The wars were never independent events.

They were maintenance payments on the architecture.

Until today.

Trump secured $2 trillion in Gulf sovereign wealth investments—capital that sat in City of London banks now committed to American manufacturing, energy, and AI infrastructure.

The Board of Peace.
Sisi at the table.
Qatar and Turkey involved despite Netanyahu's objections.

This isn't bilateral.

It's architectural.

Treasury Secretary Bessent stated plainly in January: 50% of his job is national security.

The war was always financial.
The kinetic phase settles the account.

The strikes hit precisely—IRGC command, Supreme Leader—not facilities, not population, not the state apparatus.

This preserves the Geneva framework that was already authorized.

Leaves the structure intact for the pragmatist pivot.

JD Vance told the Washington Post Friday: "There is no chance this becomes a forever war." Absolute.

Not hedging.
Marine veteran who built his career opposing forever wars.

The Venezuela template: remove the obstacle, preserve the institution, deal with the remaining government immediately.

"Take over your government. It will be yours to take."
-
@POTUS

Not regime change.

Not occupation.

Removing the final veto player who blocked both the old extraction system and the new construction system.

The Barrack-Maliki formation unpauses now.

The GCC absorbed missiles without breaking stride because they were already on the other side of this transition.

The Strait of Hormuz threat evaporates when the actor threatening it is removed.

The $2T flows. The reconstruction begins.

They'll call it Iraq 2003.

They'll scream regime change.

They'll never mention 1908 because that story requires admitting who built the house that just got foreclosed.

The reset isn't coming.

The reset happened while they were watching the explosions.

Historical times.
