He and Woodbine do not seem to get along. He has given some of the worst drives of his career at that track. I would think that trainers are heavily incented (both in terms of money and reputation) to employ the best catch drivers they can AND also are in a position to make a judgement about their skills and this year both Ron Burke and Ake Svanstedt have employed Tim on horses that Ake didn't drive himself (or where he had more than one) or where Burke's "first call" drivers (Yannick, Page, Wrenn) weren't available. Thus, they certainly feel that Tim is certainly still capable. The UDRS statistics also bear out that he is doing just fine:For those who have won more than $2mm in purses (he has about $8mm so far)..here are some of the UDRS numbers for drivers he is ahead of:Tim Tetrick .329Chris Page .324 (with a ton of Burke horses, still below TT)Doug McNair .321Tyler Buter .319Louis Roy .316Todd McCarthy .310Yannick Gingras .305Bob McClure .303
Timmy got lucky he had his run before the down under boys showed up. Good luck to the new guys with Noel, Brett and Chris winning all the big races.
