CORRECTION: BOTH parties 'SHUT DOWN' the government! Please get your information to be "FACTUAL" instead of '1-SIDED'!
It's pretty simple moron, there were two options, vote to keep government open, or vote to close government! Republicans don't have 60 votes, so democraps had to help. Democraps said no, shut it down!
Sadly, only three Dems sided with the GOP for the "clean" continuing resolution to keep the government open. That made the vote 5 short of the 60 needed. It's always a gamble for each side when the government shuts down. But this now allows the administration to reduce the size of government even further. This was a bad play for the Dems whichever way they went.
Rainman2, do you support free healthcare for illegal migrants?Very simple response required, yes or no.Happy to answer your question next.
Democrats do not want free healthcare, 1. Current federal lawUndocumented immigrants are not eligible for federal programs like Medicare, Medicaid (except for emergency services), or ACA (Obamacare) subsidies. They cannot buy ACA marketplace plans, even at full price.2. What Democrats actually supportMany Democrats do support expanding access to health care for undocumented immigrants, but usually at the state/local level or for specific groups (like children, pregnant women, or DACA recipients). For example, states like California, Illinois, and New York have created state-funded programs that let undocumented residents get health coverage. These are state choices, not federal mandates.Nationally, most Democrats push for things like emergency room access, community clinics, and vaccinations for undocumented people — largely for public health reasons (to stop the spread of disease, reduce ER costs, etc.).3. Why the “free healthcare for illegals” claim is misleadingIt suggests Democrats want to automatically give full federal benefits to all undocumented immigrants — which is not true under current law.It oversimplifies nuanced proposals (like limited state coverage or emergency care) into something that sounds extreme. It’s mostly used as a political weapon to stoke anger.
Well Tim you're not even close! Chuck Schumer said, "Not a single dollar goes to providing health insurance for undocumented immigrants. Not one penny." Well Chuck this is not about INSURANCE, it's about how illegal immigrants receive HEALTH CARE! It's all about the "TPS" Temporary Protected Status holders who represent 1.3 MILLION PEOPLE! They are illegal immigrants who can go to a hospital, and the bill will be paid by the FEDERAL Government. Republicans say NO, Democrats say YES. That is what this government shutdown is about!
