Hanover, SRIF, USTA Conflict of Interest
« on: June 08, 2025, 12:14:30 PM »
I don’t pay much attention to quarrels in the upper echelons of racing and just assume it’s a bunch of wealthy pitbulls ripping each others face off. Looking from the outside in…it might appear that the SRIF possibly specifically targeted the main competitors of Hanover. The demise of the these entities would certainly increase market share for Hanover and make racing easier for their clients.

Why would the Harness Industry give absolute power to the president of a major farm and not bring in a non-partisan special counsel like a respected person involved in Quarter Horse racing which is more corrupt than harness because of drug cartels? The key being that whoever is chosen has no connection to harness racing.

There are a lot of people on the “the list” that haven’t been investigated and it’s hard to ignore the fact that the main targets of SRIF investigation are Hanover’s biggest competitors. There are a ton of people in the Industry accused of the same alleged fraud as the ones being prosecuted..but they are not punished. It seems rather nefarious to me.

What does each of those leagues have. Players unions and representation led by present and former players as well as paid arbitrators and attorneys who negotiate actual contracts.

Yep and we have several horseman’s associations that help if needed. Point Is you need someone that knows about the sport to head it not an outsider. Like him or not Russ is not the final answer he has a board that was voted for by horseman to answer too

If you don’t like the current board then gather support and vote them out. But that would mean you need to be a member and pay the fee

I don't see anyone who is a member standing up to any of them. Horsemen have NO representation. The board is populated with the people that need to be gone. In the REAL world, horsemen have a barrier between them and the governing body. Any of those other sports leagues a NOT FOR PROFIT 501c6? You're fucking clueless to make those comparisons. Professional sports league players have the power to shut down the whole sport in times of negotiation if they are dissatisfied. Get it???  ngc3

Disagree.  Most people on the associations look out for themselves and a select few. And most are on the take and couldn’t care less about the best interests of regular Horsemen.
