Back in February, Someone who works for Landy told me there was discussion about buying freehold.

Landy and partner wanted to guarantee racing just for 5 years and also wanted to build types of homes the Boro wants no part of. They will only accept 55 and over to avoid children because their schools are already way over  crowded from immigrants.

Best bet right now is rumor it's a car consortium. So many dealers need space to store cars. Many were doing that already at track.

One thing is for certain, the deal closes on Tuesday.

Eugene Landy final offer was 2 years limited racing and would cut back his trailer park from 550 units to 425 units . Freehold boro said no . Penn found another buyer non horse racing company. Looks like Mack -cali guess they won’t have to worry about school kids .

YR did that sort of thing before MGM. They rented a multi tier indoor parking garage on the property to car dealers in the area.

The Exporter.....The loss of Pompano Park was a horrible blow to harness racing. I realized that casinos don't give a crap about harness racing. That prime real estate is all that matters to them. So sad.

Mack - Cali the boro is extremely pleased with the developer . Tax breaks for 15 years in Lieu of developer contributing to a baseball field and a monument representing the racetrack . Terms of deal undisclosed
