Winner is probably Journalism. I know going out on a limb with the favorite lol... but he looks much the best. Sovereignty drew post 18 which is probably his best competition. I also really like the Japanese horse #7 Luxor Cafe.

Will Griffin Johnson's 33 million followers have any effect on Sandman's win odds? He's the logical 3rd choice with that wicked kick especially if he can keep himself straight down the lane.  Post 17 has to win sooner or later.

Whenever there's a big dance and I don't have a real rooting interest, I find myself rooting for the underdog, great story, etc. How amazing would it be for Wayne Lukas to win another Derby. He's what, 89 or 90 years old?!?! LOL. I also see Baffert is now down to two horses in the Derby. After his suspension from CD, I guess it would be a twisted fate of irony if he won. LOL. Steve Asmussen is still chasing his first Derby. I haven't looked over the field yet and didn't really follow a lot of the preps. Looking forward to the most exciting two minutes in sports!

It's called the most exciting two minutes in sports, only if you have the winner!

It will be a show place and thrilling to watch, especially with all the people. It’s a shame what happened to our industry. journalism will be tough to beat.

Always thought having 20 horses is too many, creates alot of traffic problems. Of the 20 horses, at least half of them have little or no chance of winning. You almost always get a fast pace, so a horse like Journalism needs to avoid traffic problems when he's making his run.

The points system itself is debatable. Yes, field size has been debatable as well. With a 20 horse field, I think the random draw is an issue. Why not let the horses with the most points choose their post position? Or at least, why not let them choose from a block of post positions, 1 thru 5, 6 thru 10, etc., and let the actual post position be random within that block?

Thank you$$$$  Journalism

When too many people pick the same horse like Journalism, it's like the kiss of the death and the horse rarely wins.

Definitely a possibility, but with pools like that I doubt it will show.  Looks like a lot of very under qualified horses this year.  Journalism is clearly the best, but we know that doesn’t mean anything in the derby.  Horse just coming into form always scary.  I’m going to try GRANDE and Velasquez on to win and box exacta with Journalism.
