As far as 'taking it out on you', when you demean, debase, and criticize people, et al, it's all good.  However, when people 'double down' on you, all you see is the TDS card along with the 'WHINING' and CRYING, and you don't like it!  you can't have your cake and eat it too! They are still very far away on ending the 'trade deficit' with China, and cutting "waste/fraud/abuse" in social security and medicaid.  Saying it is one thing---actually doing it is a completely different matter!

The country that did all the heavy lifting in every war.
The country that spends more on defense than anyone else, even though we are at the lowest risk of being attacked.  (geographically)
The country that everyone wants to trade with, creating huge discrepancies in trade balances.

Those things are still true, but will feel a little different.
Our allies will up their defense budgets more, so the US can support them, not carry them.
We'll still be the country that everyone wants to trade with, but cash flow for exports and imports will be more equitable.  Why would you want to support China's GDP?
