I am sure plenty of people will play internet or arm-chair trainer here, which seems to be pretty common here, LOL, but I for one have no idea what they plan on doing with this horse, where they plan on racing him, etc. Off a qualifier like that, he should be ready to enter. I  mean, how much faster do you want to go.....in a qualifier?!?!? So, throw him to the wolves and race against some really good horses.....or, find an easy open/invitational for him and see where he's at, because right now, I don't think they really know how he will be in a real race/race conditions.

Hopefully they protect him as much as they can his first five or six starts givinig him a helmet every start and try to rebuid his competive spirit. He has been through alot the last 9 months. Hope for the animals sake he makes it back.

He's required to make at least 1 start at Meadowlands unless he has a stake engagement which I extremely doubt.

I'll take the bait and play internet trainer LOL. I'd throw him in an open or invitational for a few starts and see how he responds. That horse has been to hell and back, no need to throw him to the wolves. If he has a few good starts and comes out of the races ok then raise the bar a little bit. If he performs well but you don't think he could compete with the best of the best, then keep him in the higher opens and invitational. Nobody really knows how he would respond with let's say 3 starts in 4 or 5 weeks.

I hear you. Actually, I wasn't speaking to picking a spot for his first race back and moving forward, as much as I was referring to people diagnosing specific problems, stating he did this or that, recommending this or that, and so on. Nobody here knows how he came out of the qualifier, what condition this horse is in, and how he is day-to-day, etc., so even picking a spot is picking in the dark. But as far as people saying what's wrong, he's not sound, and all that. Armchair and internet trainers, LOL.

Why throw him in a big race right off the qualifier? For a big purse? I agree with you. Find an open/invite and see what you are dealing with, rather than diving into the deep end of the pool and not knowing what you are dealing with because some top horses kicked your teeth in. LOL.

Right now the only track who has a weekly Preferred or Open pace is Yonkers. Some weeks they have an Open pace at Meadowlands or Pocono for a $25,000 purse. Unless the racing secretary writes a special added condition, he'll probably go in one of those races.

I would seriously doubt this would happen but Miami Valley has an open every week that usually goes between 35 and 40 grand, and as was stated earlier in the thread I think he might have to race once at The Meadowlands since he qualified there

lets not forget his last race was july 13/2024
he had 8 races in 2024
and he's had some "issues"
and he was not a "super" horse , just appeared to be a very good horse but clearly harris and owners wanted a 3 yr old for the big races and paid top dollar
start him as easy as you can and let him develop, 4 yr old year is tough enough, let alone going through what he has
get some races into him , likely will need a break of shutdown at some point in 2025 and try to get him primed for his 5 year old season

Probably some prep races at Big M where a condition is written for him in highest condition level they fill and then Graduate series awaits in about 6 weeks. Plenty of time to see if he can handle racing every week

Obviously he already proved naysayers here wrong with a strong qualifier sub 151. Not sure what people want from him. He was not the top 3 year old last year. He can be competitive  with 4 year olds so he deserves a shot at that before written off

He's eligible to the 4yo Graduate in Ontario and the USA.. they have nice early mid series where he doesnt have to be gutted by top aged horses to start the year.. educate yourselves he's a very nice horse with a plan.!!

I was very high on this horse from day one. I really liked him. Personally, I would love to see him come back to the horse he was. Realistically I think that is highly unlikely. I am not a vet, nor a trainer, but my experience, common sense, and intellect tell me, it's highly unlikely because, one, some portion of what we saw was the result of illegal drugs. And, two, I just don't know if, and I don't feel confident, that a horse can come back to the same form after an implosion like that.

i am not sure if that qualifier was good or bad--sub 151 doesnt mean much these days

apparently he has another Q this weekend

lets see him race--until then its all speculation by everyone

i use this basic assumption
if funtime bayama was on heavy performance enhancers , what about the horses who beat him, are we to assume that a "clean " horse beat a drugged horse, its possible but unlikely

think back to the Olympic 100 yd dash
ben johnson caught on steroids, over the next few years every other runner in the race would also test positive for steroids
