I am sure plenty of people will play internet or arm-chair trainer here, which seems to be pretty common here, LOL, but I for one have no idea what they plan on doing with this horse, where they plan on racing him, etc. Off a qualifier like that, he should be ready to enter. I mean, how much faster do you want to go.....in a qualifier?!?!? So, throw him to the wolves and race against some really good horses.....or, find an easy open/invitational for him and see where he's at, because right now, I don't think they really know how he will be in a real race/race conditions.
I'll take the bait and play internet trainer LOL. I'd throw him in an open or invitational for a few starts and see how he responds. That horse has been to hell and back, no need to throw him to the wolves. If he has a few good starts and comes out of the races ok then raise the bar a little bit. If he performs well but you don't think he could compete with the best of the best, then keep him in the higher opens and invitational. Nobody really knows how he would respond with let's say 3 starts in 4 or 5 weeks.
Right now the only track who has a weekly Preferred or Open pace is Yonkers. Some weeks they have an Open pace at Meadowlands or Pocono for a $25,000 purse. Unless the racing secretary writes a special added condition, he'll probably go in one of those races.
Probably some prep races at Big M where a condition is written for him in highest condition level they fill and then Graduate series awaits in about 6 weeks. Plenty of time to see if he can handle racing every weekObviously he already proved naysayers here wrong with a strong qualifier sub 151. Not sure what people want from him. He was not the top 3 year old last year. He can be competitive with 4 year olds so he deserves a shot at that before written off
