why convert to a mile track?
because that is where all the best and most fair racing is done  for both gamblers and owners
you want to have a decent horse in the crown and draw post eight , good luck, you might qualify for the final and draw out there again because you had no shot to win the elim and get to pick a post

If those are the reasons, then they ain't gonna do it. Listen, I could make an argument that it would be a great investment for the BC, AND FOR THE FUTURE. But that doesn't mean it's a good argument, LOL. Small sampling, laws of large #'s, and all----for the BC, which by default will have competitive fields, nobody is passing on the race because of the fear of the 8 hole. Overnight racing, sure, I would suspect 4 and 5 would have almost double the win % than 8, but we are not talking overnight racing here. Apples and bowling balls. Regardless, even if a case could be made for it, I don't see it happening. I'd be shocked.

Actually Scioto goes out to the 9 hole and 10 is the trailer.

Yep, they do. I only mentioned 8 because that's the post position/reference mentioned and I was replying to that. If I had to guess, I would say the 9 might be closer to a third of the 4 and 5 slots. Just a guess based upon my watching Scioto and about 40 plus years of this sport and industry. LOL.

8 and 9 are pretty rough.. but if you've got a great horse the post can be overcome.. There are bad posts on a 7/8 and mile tracks to. I know not as big as disadvantage.

If you want to be called the best you gotta win on any size track from any spot. Ray S. Said it best with Dewey from the 10 Mohawk. It is only a starting point

Breeders crown should be on a 7/8 or 1 mile track only.  Cal Ex would be better site than Scioto.

WHO GETS AFFECTED THE MOST WHEN A TRACK HLDS THE BREEDERS CROWN.

ARE THE HORSEMEN FROM THAT PARTICULARF TRACK

ASK HOOSIER HORSES GUYS HOW MUCH THE TRACK TOOK FORM THEIR PURSE ACCOUNTS..

ITS NOT A WELCOME ,,ITS A LOSS FOR THE HORSEMEN

It’s a great opportunity for Ohio to showcase the Breeders Crown.  The overnight purse account will be fine.  They will be able to offset some of the cost with sponsorships and support for the Ohio Horsemen’s Association.  I believe this will be an overwhelming success.

Expect an even lower handle.

Ly was $300,000 PER RACE. Pitiful.

Breeders Cup was 15 MILLION per race---50x more.

as we all know something is wrong with the system and rotten in denmark
if you signature event loses money that's an issue... you think anyone loses money on the super bowl !!!
agree that Hambletonian society needs to do better
it should be a boon to the host rack not a money loser
