How can a fan of this sport not know who Tom Pollock is? Next to Weaver Bruscemi and Burke he has the most racehorses in the USA.  Jeff Cullipher trains the vast majority of the stock but he has to get a Canadian trainer if he wants to race there.  Coincidentally Burke and his crew also use Menary if they want to race in Canada overnights

Menary does well and isn't afraid to color outside of the lines . He has the same program as most of the big shots

Pollock had a winner last night at Northfield. Randy Bendis as the trainer. I believe Randy was Pollocks original trainer. Randy didn’t want a large stable  and Jeff happened to own a percentage of a horse (that did quite well) with Randy and Pollock and that’s how the two met. Jeff who was no longer training full time decided to get back in full force with this new friendship. The rest is history.

This is correct Bendis was and probably still is hooked up with Tony O'Sullivan and  Ed Hart too.  I don't know Cullifer's origins but if someone (in this case Pollock) gave him 5% ownership or whatever the % is of every horse he trained for him you can't blame the guy for jumping in full throttle and training as many horses as he can handle.

Tony OSullivan couldn't train a dead dog to lay down. Those credentials nonetheless got him the race secretary job at Mohawk, of which, he was equally horribly bad at as well. He no longer does that gig and could probably be found at a local mall getting highlights done to his hair.

My friend related that Dave has cleaned up his life and is a decent guy. He also mentioned that like a lot of young trainers they push the envelope in ways to improve a horse and like many, that results in the odd positive. But in a results driven game, and that's what it is now with the exorbitant costs nowadays, he gets results. Whether that's a winning strategy, pardon the pun, is another story as once they pass through his barn they usually go to zero. But I'm sure Pollack and company know the deal going in and they live with that risk.

From what i understand about addicts it is all about honesty and making changes and if you are someone who robs a store every day and then you go to 3 times a month that i do not call a success story,,,,,,,,,,now MR agent Q I THINK YOU POST with good intentions but i think me and you see things very different,,,,,,,,,,,

It's okay to see things differently but I'm not so sure I get your rationale. Dave doesn't drink anymore and lives a life predicated on family and work, with family being at the forefront. If you have issue with his way of training, then I think we might be more in sympatico on that then you're aware. I've seen the effects EPO and Cobalt have on horses, as well as excessive training on questionable healthy horses. I was just relaying that on a personal level, the guy has made tremendous strides and that should be recognized. Hope that helps my friend.

He was in the paddock talking to someone who was paddocking a horse for Paul Court. Then did a quest spot with Randy talking about this and that. Don't ever mix him up with a hard working guy.
