Northfield, Monticello and Mohawk race almost every day in much worse conditions.

First I feel for the horses that were prepared for Saturday night racing secondly the Horsemen and owners that rearranged their lives to be there because some fucking loser did not do his job and lastly I feel sorry for the patron who came only to be turned away. I noticed the dining room and the rest of the facility was left open.

What was the actual problem?

I watched the 1st. The nine stuck in its toes; was this something related to track? Could see the stretch had some drifting terrain..was that what prompted the cancellation?

Legitimately asking..was it that bad up there?

If it was a Thursday night they probably would have cancelled in the first place. It's also possible after the 1st race the drivers voted not to race because of the conditions, but lapdog Settlemoir will never tell you that.

The immortal Tyler Miller was on the #9 horse and went 54:4 to the half on a brutally cold windy night before breaking and interferring with several horses behind him.

Actually, I think it was his Dad.  In any event, props to Boyd, Tritton, and Buter for good reflexes and control of their horses.  If AA were still around there would be hell to pay in NJ.

They didn't pay out around $225,000 in purses. Do they make up the day?

I stand corrected, it was Andy, thanks!  Had it been Tyler he would have gotten parked the mile.

Since Gural claims he loses money on racing, I wouldn't hold my breath.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it were the drivers. If not on top there was a lot of mud flying.  Watch the replay. Starting gate was putting out quite a spray too.  23 degrees. If a horse of mine had been in to race in a later race I would have wanted him scratched.
