I wouldn’t be surprised if it were the drivers. If not on top there was a lot of mud flying.  Watch the replay. Starting gate was putting out quite a spray too.  23 degrees. If a horse of mine had been in to race in a later race I would have wanted him scratched.

At the thoroughbred tracks, when the track conditions are in question, the jockeys will walk the track, and if they deem it's unsafe will refuse to ride.

it probably was the drivers
based on the fact the track looked like a skating rink
they didnt have much choice

Fucking pussies. It’s winter. Snow and wind are a part of it.

They showed Andy Miller on the live feed examining the spot on the track where his horse lost it. Then they canceled right after that. Onviously, there was ice at the spot Andy lost control. That is why the race should have been declared a no contest and bets refunded. But, they went the greed route and didn't want to lose the handle.

The track was shit, they were right to cancel. If they didn't, people would be bitchen about broken down horses.

To me the point isn't that they canceled, it's that they weren't prepared.  Other cold weather tracks would never have had to cancel on a night like last night.

It's kind of odd about how the Big M's track maintenance crew can't get the job done. I watched racing last night from Northfield and Woodbine. Snow falling in bunched. But both tracks ran, and there seemed to be no issues. Why can't the Meadowlands get it right?

It does snow alot more at Northfield and Mohawk, but they'll use the excuse the snow caught them by surprise, which is a lame excuse. If you cancelled after the 1st race then you probably shouldn't have run at all, but it was Saturday, so their greed won out, but it backfired.
