I totally agree. I have been saying this for years. He is top dog at Northfield driving against Amish inbreds. And he usually is listed on the horse with the latest and greatest version of EPO.

He surely could be top 5 at Yonkers which would bank him a hell of a lot more money than he is making now, not to mention he wouldn't have to travel a gazillion miles a day. He's as good as Andrew McCarthy who is 2nd leading driver at M1 and gets a fair amount of stake drives. The time is probably now since Dave Miller is heading to Ohio.

Merriman would get demolished at YR and even worse at M.  Top drivers have zero respect for him as a driver.  He's nice guy is all anyone ever says about him.  Nice guys finish last.  He drives all the gas at NFLD and now the track is legit you see his numbers dipping because the front doesn't hold up like it used too.  I wouldn't rate him in the top 5 in Ohio!  Page, Miller, Noble, Wrenn, Smith are far better drivers.

Saw him break an odds on favorite trotter at the start Wed at Northfield.  Trotter had 1 break in 5 years before that.
