"Calm" Meadowlands Pace First Elimination
« on: July 07, 2024, 04:01:50 AM »
Nobody moved out of the gate, 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9 at the quarter AND at the half.  Finish 3-1-2-4-5

This was for the chance to race for a half million dollars???

2nd Elimination was more of what one would expect for the chance to go after $500,000 or $250,000 or even $120,000.

Nijinsky reminds me a lot of Cam Fella; just does not want to lose.  Still 30 or 40 wins away from Cam, however.  Funtime Bayama looked like the change of barns did not effect the way he raced at all.  Gutsy try.

Pre race interviews with the drivers and they said the objective was to make the top 5  and still have some horse for the final. This no secret and they are not attempting to hide it.

Hard to improve one off Moreau and Fillion can drive with anyone. They will do well just to keep him as sharp as he's been.  He did race very well though, went a tough trip, never saw the rail.

Nijinksy looks super tough. He is so versitile how can they beat him

Some of these horses do not seem capable of what Nijinksy can do. Mirage Hanover is tough but he will need a trip. Legendary much improved last night but things set up perfectly for him

Captain Albano was steppy in the stretch and does not look up to it.

Captains Quarters got what he needed out of his elimination, including a 24:4 LQ.
Don’t ignore.

I agree with all your points, Tetrick is having trouble winning races this year when the money is down.  Probably the worst early steak I’ve seen him have.  Hopefully it shapes up

Jamieson pretty much came out and told John Rallis he wasnt going to try and win before the race

Captain Luke was really good last night. He blasted out of the gate to an easy lead, lost all chance when shuffled behind Mccrunch, and rallied along the inside to be fourth.

They want people to bet on these shit elim races yet everyone on every telecast kept stating next week matters and don't gut the horse this week.  Why make them available for wagering if they don't try?  And fyi, I don't bet elim races.  tmbz1

Typical Yannick fucking up a race and getting in the way.  Why anyone puts this guy down when big money is up for grabs is beyond me?  If you don't have the 1/9 or 2/5 shot then he is not your guy.  That horse needed a trip and he got abused and raced like it.  Yannick's time is almost past.  Burke is barely using him anymore.  Today at Oak Grove he has no Burke horses.

You sure about that? Gingrad was listed on plenty of Burke horses today and he chose off them

I hear you. So you get it, you don't bet elims. I agree. Your choice. However, the way I see it is-----track management is saying, it's a race, there's betting, we offer races for you to bet. You know it's an elim. Your option to bet. Not my job to make it non-betting because that's my business. I want people to bet so I offer it as a betting race. So your option. You bet, don't bet, up to you. Remember, you know it's an elim. You can pass or you can bet. If you bet, and the elim factor beats you, well, it was your choice to bet. You could have passed.

So, who is the sucker? LOL.

if what you said is true, if you drew 6-10, don't you have to make an attempt to get in the top 5?

I can't say I've always done this, but I try not to wager on elimination races.
