Open tote. When will it end

 The biggest bull shit that is going on right now in harness racing is that open tote. Everyone I speak to says it’s at the Red Mile.  How do you get someone to look into this? I am so sick and tired of a horses odds PLUMMETING 10 seconds after the windows “close”.   They say it’s just the money coming in from the OTBs. I call major BULLSHIT.  So the OTB money coming in is ALWAYS correct on who’s leaving?? or who made a break? Some one really has to do something.

And if your 8/5 leaves the gate hard it goes from 8/5 to 3/5.  Lately they even drop to 1/5. At woodbine you can hear the frustration in the announcers voice too as he calls the “late money” and their new odds from before the race. Line up exactas get hit also.

100% correct. The tote machine is not going off for up to 20 seconds after the race starts. It’sa huge advantage.  Every leaver drops in odds EVERY FUCKIN TIME. It’s very noticeable at Woodbine.  You can have two horses 2-1. After the start one of them will drop to 6/5 or even 3/5 and it’s ALWAYS the leader and ALWAYS correct.  I have never seen one hit late and get off the gate bad. Ever.

it's the so called 'guess right" the majority of time that makes it fishy that someone has open access.

Or the horse that breaks just off the gate and goes from favorite and money that gets cancelled.....

Would it really be that difficult to have a program that can leak in late money ? A group did it on the second biggest  race cards --- caught and jailed doing at the Breeders Cup for runners hitting the pick 6.... Of course they got greedy and had multiple winning tickets....

Not buying the Lexington hub....thenl way to stop this is for betting to stop 30 seconds before the start.

1) Install a "fair start" pole at every race track
2) Do away with the idiotic fair start rule in Canada
3) Close all betting when the horses reach said fair start pole.
