There is a mad bomber floating around today betting very big bucks on very marginal horses making for good betting opportunities.

Started today at Monti when there was 2k bet on the #4 early. That was a horse that could not win. Happened at meadows and Harrahs Phil...last race 7 was a mortal lock and paid 2-1 winning by 10 at least as Jack Pelling weakling got pounded.

Ocean Downs race 1 #2 opened at 1-9 with $500 on his nose opening bell. That is alot for Ocean. Worth finding an alternative.

Dont get faked out by this early money, many times the cash is cancelled.

The odds we see are virtually meaningless when the CAWs and Lexington hub bet after the race starts--the real odds are posted after a quarter of a mile.

I realize that and look for it. Todays $$$ was not removed. But of course that needs to be clearly looked for.

He was there at Chester this afternoon.  Pounded 7500 to win on Churchviewcamlot at the bell.  Stupid bet to get back 2.10.  That horse is good but perhaps could have been beaten by the Burke horse who was roughly the same price up till then.

they are usually heavy chalks and tough to bet or to bet around

usually these large wagers are getting heavily rebated--sometimes turning a visible $2.10 in to a hidden $2.20

I don't know if it was after.  I was watching the race and the winner was 4/5 coming to the gate when they turned the odds off of my screen.   I didn't see the 1 to 9 until they were racing and odds on the leaders were shown.

It wasn't just that race at Chester.  Races 4, 5, 6 had a ton bet to win on one horse as well as the 7th and last race.

yes i saw 4 consecutive winners pay $2.10, $2.20, $2.20 and $2.20
