Yonkers Announcer

Whoever is announcing tonight makes me long for Roger Huston. I would rather pound my head into a wall than listen to Roger.

Definitely a shortage of good announcers.  That dude Stabile who most of us disliked ended up the announcer at Fingerlakes Tbreds.  So sad.

Bring in Scott Ehrlich. He’s on the east coast at Cumberland.  He would make the races excitable.   Zooooooooming by!!!!!!!

The guy sounds like he’s gasping for air and he’s like 30 seconds behind on his calls. The guy that calls the races at Northfield is the best in harness racing. He’s not afraid to call a close finish at the line. And he’s not boring. The best race caller currently is the guy that does Hong Kong.

I still think Ken Warkentin at the Meadowlands and Ken Middleton at Mohawk are the best. They are both sharp and crisp and tell pretty much the complete story to viewers. Interestingly, they are both from Canada and have somewhat similar styles and don’t get too excitable. Many of the other announcers are a bit bland.

Did he steal the “zooming by” from John Bothe the excellent NJ announcer who had a gambling problem?

The “zooming bye” call was not trademarked.  No stealing was determined.

And he is young, and will only get better. Jeff Zidek at The Meadows is quite good, too.
