The first two years away from Takter he couldn't win a fixed race.  Hooked up with Josh Marks and BOOM 2nd in the country!

And you don't think Takter had a formula besides hay and oats? Seriously?

How come it's always Josh when somebody wins races? Engbloom trained all the good horses Takter had, he shoes, he's not an idiot. Worked for Takter here then went back to Sweden and trained his own stable. Takter called him to return to the states and he's never left. Got screwed over in the split of the stable. Lost some Takter owners kept a few. Big switch to more race horses, not just two and three year olds. Lets see how it goes before putting him on a stake

Not saying he can't train one. Saying he isn't racing on hay and oats.  But who is?

Please read the trainer's UTRS starts with  wins, seconds, and thirds and draw your own conclusions!!!

Per at M1
2020 had 7 wins in 79 starts
2021 had 9 wins in 105 starts
2022 had 22 wins in 156 starts
2024 has 9 wins in 31 starts
To me it is how they win. If overcome hard trips, under a death grip, & beating the bias with ease. That is what i look at.

Josh is the armchair expert's ace up the sleeve of anyone who starts winning races. The guy has hit a big hot streak because he had horses ready and the condition sheet played to what he had. When Takter split up the barn it was not supposed to be nor was it even close to an even or fair split. Jimmy was overloading Nancy as much as possible right up front to stack the deck and set the stage. It worked. Per had a role to play and he played it. Now the pendulum has swung a bit and he's picking up horsepower and wins. Nothing shocking here. He won't keep up these numbers for long and it will return to the norm over time. But for those who have to say he's cheating, they will say he's grabbing while the grabbing is good, he's stealing money, Josh is behind all this, and so on.

Testing the latest formulas prior to the Stakes season! Some of these new formulas have been known to have side effects. How the horse acts prior to and after the wire are just as important! The reason why we see the effects now is because the overnight purses are a drop in the bucket compared with the money available in the Stake races. It is alot easier to give back 8-10 k rather than 40-50k in the spring and summer! Put that in your pipe and smoke it!

I never said any horse was classified well. What I said was the condition sheet favored what he had ready to go in the barn. You pick an exception, an anomaly, a one off and throw the net out so that it covers everything. Believe what you want. But, when all you have is a hammer...eventual ly everything begins to look like a nail.
