Yonkers Trainers & Drivers talking about walking out
« on: November 11, 2023, 02:12:56 AM »
Overheard today that there are many trainers and a few drivers that are going to boycott Yonkers if they don't ban the trainers like the Meadowlands.  Most are tired of training and driving against the drug trainers.

It would work.   But everyone is too much of a pussy to stand up to these criminals.

Yonkers will never do that and would love it if they did boycott. Plus the drivers and trainers there have a place for easy money

Another reason that Yonkers  can be use to stop racing and eventually develop the property

It would be like the MLB umpires strike of 1999, completely misjudging their  value to the sport.  Any excuse....sorry.. ..reason to disconnect harness racing from life support would be welcomed by any casino.

It's organized crime in the truest sense. A sharp prosecutor could probably shut everything down via the RICO act if he or she could get solid proof.

I said this a long time ago.  They need to enter and then scratch late.  Let the product have one or two horses every race.  But with Yonkers, there are so many shady characters they will still have many fields with 6 or so.   ngc3

Where is Faraldo on this action? Unless I am missing something, I don't see where the horsemen have much if any leverage. It is not like they would be cutting off the profit center. They very well maybe signing their own death warrant.

It's interesting because civil RICO means treble damages

Also no statute of limitations when there's an ongoing pattern

People realize the honest horsemen were the victims, they need to step up and start claiming their victims' fund

Like Ronnie Burke says "when the circus loses a monkey, they just get another monkey". He's not going to stop entering, just get another monkey, they'd all like the chance to pick up his drives. Tell me who the first driver or trainer who will boycott.

If it happens it will be hardly noticed.  The big guns have enough to fill the box.

Faraldo main trainer is on the list. Of course his last one is in prison. Lol

He was let go not allowed on the grounds. One of the employees told me most of the time he was angry and resentful of marks success. I won't go into details why he was thrown off the farm and not allowed back.
