It would be nice to see purses, especially ISS bred stakes raised, like Ohio has done!!
400K finals!!!  THAT'S IMPRESSIVE!

Ohio has  4 legs and final

Hoosierpark has 6 for two yr olds and 8 legs  for 3 yr olds and a final

It works to be about the same

Luc--You and I know, the trick is to get one at the sale, OR raise your own!!  Then, train them from November to June, hoping to avoid any type of injury. Then Qualify them, hoping they are good enough to go with the ISS horses, and finally, make it thru the Summer without injury, to Super Night!!! Much easier said than done!!  All that said, we have a piece of 1 this year.  GOOD LUCK, I know you went pretty strong into Indy babies, last Fall!!!

Only real change in the Ohio stakes program I can see is they added a 5th leg. As far as 100k per leg there probably will be at least 2 to 3 divisions which will bring it back down to 40 to 50k which it is now. And the 400k final as I understand is really the same 300k final with a 100k consol. That's how I am reading it. The hardest part I can see is trying to complete against the large stables. I know the Burkes and Brown stables have the monopoly on the Seasides this year.

If We are lucky, we could have a decent horse!!  The top Indy breds are really, really competitive!!  They can go with anyone, anywhere!!  Look at Soaring Now, $5000 purchase at a secondary sale!!  Made over $500K in two years!!  Racing Monday at Yonkers in the Borgata as a 4 YO!!  Go Figure????

Omfg

Just don’t race there then

Just don’t eat there then

Just don’t go there then

And all your worries and problems are  OVVAH  tmbz1

there's not a darned thing wrong w/ the criticism.  You need to think about it, Luc !  The harness racing sport is on it's last leg.  People that care ask for reasonable support.  Instead, you persecute a guy making a totally valid point.

I personally, really like Hoosier.  However, it's on the same downward spiral that Hollywood sent Dayton on.  Dayton was everybpdy's favorite.  The proximity of the paddock to the track ... the well lit, clean paddock.  Now, it's an afterthought to sports betting.

These slights by the casinos is being brought on by timid horsemen begging that the sport hangs on.

To Rocco and the others who have missed the point.........I care deeply about Hoosier Park if for no other reason than I can remember how hard it was to race Standardbreds in Indiana before Hoosier existed.  Sure, a lot of trainers got rich quick and bought new trucks and trailers but that was to be expected because it had happened before when other states got slots.  Now it is taken for granted that Hoosier Park racing will always be there and guess what? There ain't no promises and with the management in charge at Hoosier Park, there may be no racing in ten years as we know it now.  The ownership has it's track record and it doesn't include racing and they gradually let the place fall apart.  (i.e. Pompano or Scioto).  I have been fortunate enough to get some nice chunks of the Sires Stake money but I know it is not promised and can't count on it in the future.  Will the bluster and buffoonery
please stop and try to comment on the issues in the original post.  It is very easy to identify the non-residents who will move on to another state when Hoosier Park dries up.

I don’t really give a fuck what happens in 10 years I might be dead  in 10 years so I live for today and today there’s Racing at Hoosier Park which I support and will always support. And I personally enjoy their track casino and racing tremendously

I think Hoosier Park is run by Caesar's Entertainment the same as Scioto Downs.  Caesar just upgraded Scioto with a new grandstand this year so they are making capital improvements to the racetrack.

Most tracks do not want the Breeders Crown because it cost the track money.
Do you know that for sure. Seem like it would be a money maker.

If we could replace Scioto Downs with Hoosier Park facility (and hospitality), and keep the Ohio purses then we would really have something. Plus the bigger track would be a good compliment to the 5/8 Dayton and MVG.

"... I don’t really give a fuck what happens in 10 years I might be dead  in 10 years so I live for today..." A very common attitude in harness racing.

If it was a money maker then why is it only hosted by the same four tracks? There are several markets bigger than Pocono for example.
The BC was rotated between all tracks until 1999. I remember when they broke up the classes between tracks too. Why it's only four now I don't know the answer. It's funded by the Hamiltonian Society and the breeders and you would think they would have the money to make it profitable for the venues.
