Has this number EVER been called?
« on: January 29, 2023, 07:08:27 PM »

Columbus, OH – The U.S. Trotting Association announced Sunday (June 21) the relaunch of the USTA Integrity Tip Line for industry participants to alert the organization of any concerns they have regarding integrity issues in harness racing.

The toll-free number is 833/USTATIP (833/878-2847).  All callers have the option to leave their contact information for a follow-up call from an investigator or not.

USTA President Russell Williams promised some prominent horsemen that the USTA Integrity Tipline would be reestablished. USTA/Mark Hall photo.

“As indicated by USTA President Russell Williams in his published response to several prominent horsemen’s concerns about the care of horses and integrity in harness racing (read here), we are reestablishing our integrity tip line,” said USTA Executive Vice President and CEO Mike Tanner in making the announcement.

“With the plans for implementation of the Hanover Shoe Farms matching fund grant integrity initiative nearing announcement early next month, that could provide funding to assist with the costs of investigations for legitimate information obtained through the tip line,” added Tanner.

When contacting the USTA Integrity Tip Line, callers will be asked to provide as many specific details as possible regarding the situation that are important for the USTA to be aware of including names, horses, dates and locations as well as any other circumstances.

The only thing the USTA can do is suspend someone’s membership. They certainly can pass along any information they obtain to the states governing authority. That’s about it.

How many tracks or states require a USTA membership for a license ?  Do you need a membership to transfer or register a horse ??

The whistleblower line acts as entity to out any snitches and discredit and ostracize them from the industry acting as an enabler and protector for the cheaters. They have a vested interest bc of breeding rights ahem Russell Williams etc,
