« on: December 17, 2022, 09:10:05 PM »
Joey driving Travis Alexander chalk, opens up over 6 lentgths 53 and change at th half. Horse then goes into a break and finishes distanced.
Next race as the favorite from the 9 hole, the horse is used hard and breaks, finishing last.
what makes horses do that?
can judges draw blood or urine based on race performance?
come on now

Not so much the track some of the horses tonight shouldn't even been racing lame as shit in those lower conditions.
Especially Stratton's horse in the 3rd that broke looked like it was ready to fall down any moment in the lane.

Sometimes when a horse is sore they try to run away from the soreness and they're extremely hard to drive and control. You're just a passenger until they tire a little and you can pull them up. Obviously the ideal situation is to not race a sore horse.

Bad racing and conditions bring in lame horses.  Sucks to see this happening at M1.

WAKE UP!!
the trainer of both horses is a juicer
the driver of both horses is brutal
the horses are lame but are drugged up so they just want to go
they are being pushed beyond their means
sadly these folks are going to kill or seriously injure drivers and horses
the industry needs to wake up, can judges not see lame horses on the track

Should be a track or state vet on site to deem a horse unfit to race.  Some track vets have no problem scratching one and some don't even pay attention.

It shows the desperation to fill entries.

Exactly my point earlier in this thread.  The quality of horse on non-stakes nights at the Big M is the worst I can ever remember.
