I'm biased toward Maywood since I lived just a few blocks away. However, Spk had summertime racing, great competition, good stakes, and there always was a crowd. Balmoral had too much unrealized potential. Sportsmans was the best.
well, it's game over here at Maywood. thanks johnny Johnston for giving us fans the shaft!

Is this a serious question. I'm from Pennsylvania but spent plenty of summers in Chicago. By far heads and tails Sportsmans Park was internationally known everywhere, even here on the East coast. When they closed down and balmoral took over, that's when Chicago harness racing went in the shitter. Those Balmoral track owners caused the death of harness racing in the prairie state. I've met a lot of good people from Chicago and all they ever talk about is how bad those Balmoral owners were until they got thrown in jail.

Sportsman Park, and it really isn't that close. Nothing better than a summer night sitting outside there.

REMBEMBER WHEN BALMO LET SOME GUY HOST A RACE FOR HIS PURPLE HEART FATHER. LET HIM INTRODUCE THE FIELD AND CALL THE RACE ALSO
WILL BE THE BEST JUST BECAUSE OF THAT  tmbz1

That was Michigan dale Zhan. Good guy and loved Chicago harness  even Dale said in the end it really was the Johnston’s that ruined Chicago harness racing. He never wanted to make waves but he would say it behind their backs. How is Michigan dale doing these days.

The best times at Sportsman’s. Talk to the drivers up close, fans wanting to know if a driver was going to be in the 10th race trifecta.  Then if we hit the Tri in last race over to Pepe’s tacos on 63rd st till 3am. Best of times lol
