Meadowlands 2/5-6

There were only two wins by US born drivers last night. It seems that way most nights.

That and 30% of the better fields imports from down under. Often 50% at Yonkers. Also, a large % of European owned trotters, trained by European trainers.  Not a plan for success for the US harness industry.

They are also hungrier!  US drivers have made alot of coin last 5 years and several getting up there in years.  These cold winter nights don't look as appealing as they once did.  That being said these guys coming over have exceptional hands and seem to work out a trip.  Having their choice doesn't hurt much either.

Going to sleep last night I found myself wondering if the Australian drivers are just that much better than the north americans? Three are going great - the two McCarthy's and dunn. Maybe, but sometimes this has to do with the fire power there getting. Several Australian barns are firing  - cassar, harrison, norman.

I think the Australian drivers are right there if not better all in all. Would help the north americans if tetrick and Sears were there. Though Sears sometimes doesn't seem to attain his old lofty levels when the purses are lower.

i don't see how statistics and facts are hate
i would think if you are wagering you should pay attention to those numbers
would be a stretch to think those numbers are not related
clearly just firing everything to the front is not working for these guys

Simon has been in a slump for a couple months. Hes a capable driver and will eventually snap out of it. When he does there will be money to be made.
