I will call Monday for a update the ladies were in Ohio for the sale.
They ever gonna post the last 200 results of the Ohio select sale or am I missing something?
Actually Cindy called for a different reason and the mix sale is on. Not very big 87 entries with 16 being stallion shares.
I spoke with one of the bigger farms in KY yesterday more on a race mare I have and options where to sell and how breeders may play in buying broodmares later this year. Of course it all depends on how the sales go this year with Lex and Black book sale. Fair answer I asked if sales were down 10% would it be a success and answer was a that would be a great sale. He went on if it was down 30% it would be a good sale back to prices 2 years ago. So I think breeders are feeling better after the past couple smaller sales that the money is out there. Also look for money bump on KY sire finals and Keenland looking to build a harness track in Corbin in the near future. I don't see the purpose in 1.0mln dollar sales for a trotter but these days we have seen a shift to more owners on horses and the chances to have ownership on more top horses with a smaller stake.
Trying to get as many entries as possible and if it hasn't closed they may add supplements to the sale. I expect there won't be many eye catching raceway horses? It's cheaper, one gets there money quicker using ongait, and you still get a ton of eyeballs.
Breeders love averages. They dump their low end stuff online and then tout the average. Good horses always sell well and the bottom end always sell poorly. Auctions are picnics for them. People that go to one auction a year get brutalized, they have no idea of the games played.
