2020 Horse Sales
« on: September 17, 2020, 10:00:31 PM »
we should know how the sale will go during the first 15 entries

there won't be 2 million dollar yearlings

there won't be any

no mixed sale either

Uh, the mixed sale cancellation is fake news--the story you quoted is from 2019...

The guy has been off his game earlier in the week said that the Goshen sale had many poorly sold horses when in fact the average was down 197.00 from 2019 but still higher then 2018. When should there ever be a 1.0mln dollar yearling? You can find plenty that make it or break it for 100k. But you can prearrange a sale for show and the consignors thank you. As far as the mix sale as of earlier in the week still trying to get horses. Will get a first look at the first actual big sale in Ohio. The select sale starts with four new first crop sires. Should have some dollars flying around.

Strong sale through 200 minus 8 outs. So far net 4,965,000 that's gross more then the 248 sold last year. 2019 average was 20,383 and so far average 25,861 up 26% from last year with 78 more hips to sell.

Seaside by far raising the average. What the Hill's doing well while Dragons were average until the sale topper so far 175 and another biggie at 179. Money always like buying something that could be better then what they have been buying. Trot side was lacking this year so will see how WTH, Long Tom, and Creatine can bring to the table. Although Creatine first 40 foals didn't offer much while looking nice at the sale last year.

New sires helped to a 24,866 average up 22%. How does this transfer to the two big sales where they have couple crops and just two new sires Walner and Huntsville. Still plenty of day 5 regional horses by Seaside and WTH. Lexington and Harrisburg with the amount of horses and the big prices from last year will probably be down but if it's less then 10% breeders will take it.

How many of these were being protected?  What is the cost to have bragging rights?  These breeders know they have to make the money within the next 5 years before the slot money leaves.  Some nice horses in there though.

he dominated Fear The Dragon at the end of their 3 year old seasons, expect the same on the racetracks next year

20 days to the proposed mixed sale at Lexington and still no entries

even if there are, doesn't sound like many and those who entered can only go to Timonium supplemental sale if they want a mixed sale soon if the Lexington mixed sale is canceled
