It was nice to see him crawl out of the woods of rural Kennebec County briefly, to once again tour the Maine fairs.  Unfortunately it may not happen again for another 20 years.  This fall Steve O'Toole and Penn Gaming big-wigs approached Delisle about coming out of winter hibernation early in 2019 to work the Bangor meet starting in May.  Frightened at the thought of working 5 months in a single year, The Hermit bolted once again for the Mercer woods with nothing but a bag of weed,a 12 pack and his fishing rod.  Hasnt been spotted since.

i wondered where my bag of green went. i would share anyhow. hard to believe though bangor wanting someone other than the 'allways a quick decision frank hall' as pj. maybe they could get the boys from the soon to be extinct scarborough. there is a boys school down the road from the casino. the live handle would go up. sawyer could run the race office professionally.

You guys are nuts. That guy is an asshole with a capital A.Hopefully he disappears for another 20 yrs.The only way he'll be spotted is when he makes a beer run.Scab crew would be a good fit at bangor, the handle would definitely improve.

Tilley youre awfully tough on The Country Bumpkin.  Not an a-hole.  Swiping a few spirits out of a camp or two doesnt make him a bad fella, just tryin' to survive the tough Maine wintah's.  I think Delisle is considering the job actually.  A small State Employee vehicle, with an elderly fella dressed all in blue, has been seen patroling the logging & camp roads around Rome and Belgrade.  It's gotta be none other than Ralph Canney, hoping to stumble across his friend, and beg him to come save him.  Canney wouldnt last a week working with the "Downs" castaways.

i think dana would be great for bangor. maine really has a shortage of judges. maybe we can get roger smith back into a full season in the stand. if that lil old guy in a state car finds dana he would be lucky. and that lil old guy is a pretty good guy himself. been around forever, and its no easy job dealing with the backstrech of any track here in maine. good luck to both of them.

Come on Mr Tilley Dana is  A good P.J. As long as he remembers where he came from and does not go overboard.

i think the days of any judge in maine going overboard are long gone. they all know the comission will overturn them. they call only the biggest violations. if there is any doubt they just go official. past few years danas only problem is slow quarter fines. i have never really liked the rule anyway. the other drivers let the leader slow the pace well any of them can pull the right line.  scarborough crew, seems like weeks go bye without a fine. guess they got caught in a long line at the windows and missed the race. so maybe we can get shane bacon back. i remember him at farmington one year. found every possible infraction and some that didnt even exist. i also think a announcer from the past would be perfect. the voice llyod johnson. he allways acted like he wanted to be a judge.

Funny you should mention Lucky Lloyd.  Ralph Canney and his subordinates have leaned on the veteran announcer in all judges decisions for years.  No State employee actions take place without Lloyd's approval.

Canney and Delisle can't walk and chew gum at the same time! They have nothing to offer horse racing.Their only concern is have they got enough beer to last the evening.I was reading the results of the commission summit, the horsemens only concern is getting another handout from the cascade or sports betting. Who gives a fuck about the few fans left or the fairs that still host horse racing. The end is in sight they better wake the fuck up! I have never seen a bunch of people as blind and short sighted!Wake the fuck up people!Delisle has the right idea go fishing and drink beer, why waste his time trying to do something to make it better when the people involved can't take control of their own destiny!Canney's only reason for being is to suck up another paycheck. You can't help people who can't help themselves.Enough said I'm gonna go ride my snowmobile.

im sure dana will accept the honor of bangor pj. heck its only 40 days of races over several months. pleanty time to fish and drink. maybe work a fair or two. funny a comet was made about the fairs. the fairs are what keeps maine raceing. lots of horse get going in june and end at the burg. its a way of life. ingraham comes back from ppk. more race dates at fairs than bangor.
