POSITIVE TEST- PRE RACE
PA Code 58-183.336 .352 .355 .357 Mr. Ruiz was the trainer of the horse FF Big Show for race #7 on 5/12/18. The horse failed the pre-race blood gas test. He is fined $1000.00 and suspended for 30 days (full) starting on 5/25/18 and continuing through 6/23/18. The horse is also suspended for 30 days starting on 5/12/18 through 6/11/18. During this suspension he and all horses owned and trained by him are barred from all grounds under the jurisdiction of The State Horse Racing Commission. Any transfer of horses owned or trained by him must be approved by the judges at Pocono Downs or The State Horse Racing Commission. Mr. Ruiz waived his right to a hearing and/or an appeal.

Trainer DAN ATER is hereby issued a warning for violation of Ohio State Racing Commission Rule 3769-18.01(A)(2), 3769-18- 01(B)(1),3769-18-01(B)(15-16-17),3769-18-02 & 3769-18-99. Blood Sample #825298 tested by the Analytical Toxicology Laboratory at the Ohio Department of Agriculture on August 6, 2018 revealed a presence of Cobalt. The Cobalt concentration in the blood sample was determined to be at 27.8 + 0.2(ppb) of plasma. This exceeds the regulatory threshold of 25 parts per billion adopted by the OSRC.

Fucking stupid fine here.  If he did anything wrong, just stop racing now.  If you bet a horse and you don't get at least that when it matters and it seems to be working...you would be quite pissed.

.2 over the limit.  That is likely within margin of error.  I only take exception to the inference as Ater racked up a single digit win percentage at Scioto.  Obviously not the results the known 'cheaters' reach for.

No, 2.8 over the limit.
And while he may not be as bad an offender as other, it does shead light on how “seriously “ Ohio racing commission takes medication violations.
What makes it worse is that this guy is a recent inductee to the Ohio harness hall of fame and walks around like he’s above the fray.

Forget about cobalt, How has Ohio NEVER had a EPO positive.  Many many many many guys are still using it.

If he indeed used cobalt on a horse he is a true 100 pct pos.
His horse tested positive above levels, that's a pretty sure sign he uses cobalt.
