The trend is there. Sports betting has and will continue to have a - effect on horseracing. Remember, racing gets 0(zero) from sports betting. And, this notion there will be a spill over from sports to horses is horseshit. In fact, the opposite is true.

Longtime big m and mohawk handicapper here, I was at the big m @1pm yesterday also. Wasn't there to play simulcast but to place NFL future wagers (Rams 12-1 win Superbowl, jags 10-1 to win AFC). Simulcast was full then too, but my worry is sports wagering $ aren't going to harness. And the tax on sports wagering is way less than horse betting. Sports betting might keep gural running the big m at cost,  but I'm not seeing signs that $ will go to purses.

Gural said on Hambo day while interviewed that every penny made from sports betting goes to him to pay back the millions he has lost every season since taking over the Meds..... Straight from his mouth.

Last night there had to be 250 people watching the football game alone  there , hell the live attendance for sports betting seems more than harness.
