TV media revenue * gimme some !
« on: August 02, 2018, 10:29:36 PM »
Where do the major sports : MLB / NFL / NBA et al derive the torrential revenue stream that allows for million dollar salaries ?  ANSWER : Television/radio  ^  it seems reasonable that if racetracks arranged for regional broadcasts to pick up the feed - they could generate a whole new pot of money.  The tracks are already putting on the races  *  if they could snag some additional dough w/ no additional work, well - by golly, doesn't it seem reasonable that they would pitch some revenue sharing to participants in the form of even greater purses.

Its a dead game lady.  14 races x 16 minutes = 3.75 hours .  Young people have no time to waste.  Have to play blackjack, roulette or pull slot machine.  Program = Chinese to most.  Enjoy next few years while it lasts.

Cable television and internet media are starving for programming.  Flip thru the 999 channels to discover the unthinkable drivel that is receiving airplay.  If you could/would market the harness race product w/ personalities, excitement and sizzle, well - to me, it ought be more exciting than fat gals getting married after they take the misbehavin' kids to dance class and stop at some restaurant that the health department shut down and then stop to root around in farmer Joe's barn for old relics and then make themselves a homemade knife so they can park by the swamp and snag 'em an alligator.  Well, call me crazy - but, there sure oughta be room on the dial for some horse racing.

To get racing on TV you would have to pay the media outlets. I give some credit for actually believing racing can. E saved. Reality....it cannot. There’s a better chance the tooth fairy will show up than seeing racing on a national tv outlet.

They have to pay CBS to air the Hambo. No one is interested in harness.

. TVG is not a National TV channel. It must be ordered and paid for. Keep dreaming.
