Need help from you horsemen in the states that have gotten sports betting up and running at their tracks. I made phone calls to Betfair and William Hill and they were of no assistance (seems I got the runaround). Also, is sports betting handle per week / month etc. being published in the local program?

Jeffy is focused on the NJ Legislature to provide racing with restoration of direct cash payments from NJ casinos and government. Also, his partner, Hard Rock is still lobbying hard for a Meadowlands casino, in spite of 80% vote against in the 2016 referendum.
As for horsemen getting a taste of the sports wagering... two chances, none and none at all.

There's no pot of gold at the end of this rainbow. I don't believe it's a monstrous windfall. That being for the horse industry. Biggest winners the Rooneys cashing out at Yonkers.

Why would Betfair or William Hill give 2 shits about horse racing getting a piece?

Only thing that may happen is when people go to the track to bet sports betting they hang around & bet the horses.

The same logic used by lobbyist to persuade legislators about slots. Reality, it went backwards.

Horsemen were behind the slots in Del. & got a piece of the action.Where were the horsemen on the sports betting they should of had a place at the table. They all were standing around with their fingers up their arse.

The pie for sports betting is much smaller. Getting a sliver of cut is not something the state, the host or the operator is willing to part with.

Sports betting is certainly not a panacea for any state. The returns are approximately 4-5%. If Vegas is making $200 million per year with all their casinos, how much is a fuckhole like the tiny M going to make ? Inconsequential. I realize these figures are from 2009. https://www.thesportsgeek.com/sports-betting/las-vegas/

Not enough to share with others without state mandates. That is why Jeffery give open end answers to the question. Same thing from NJSOA. Everything but the hard numpers.

Yes they did as well as I, But all that happen was it pushed the 90% of the local horseman out. And that was the ones it was to help protect. But what did we do, We spent the welfare purse money on new trucks and trailers, Instead of upgrading our stock...Now those original few Delaware horseman that where campaigning for slots are warming up horse's, Paddock judges, starters and so on. Only a small few are still there.
